John joined the Home Office in 2020 as Programme Director for the Emergency Services Mobile Communication Programme (ESMCP), which is responsible for delivering the Emergency Services Network (ESN). As Programme Director, John is responsible for all aspects of ESMCP delivery, ESN deployment, and the transition of all Emergency Services users from Airwave to ESN.

With nearly 40 years’ experience in IT, John has worked on significant technical projects and engagements in both applications and infrastructure domains. He is qualified as an IT architect and is also a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering (FIET).
