It will come as a surprise to very few people, that Les is a proud and forthright Yorkshireman who cares passionately about the public safety sector. A familiar face at BAPCO events for over two decades, he brings a wealth of experience to any discussion and never shies away from sharing or challenging an opinion.  

Les’s career has exposed him to many aspects of technology delivery, giving him insight into the challenges faced by our industry at all levels. Since starting his professional life as an onsite service technician, Les has held key roles in several major projects, including the Lancashire Police PSRCP Pilot, the first implementation of TETRA in the UK, and the delivery of the Ambulance Radio Programme,  Les can draw upon literally decades of stress!

His current role as Managing Consultant with Mason Advisory allows him to apply his knowledge with public safety organisations in areas such as requirements capture, design, implementation, risk and issue management, change control, integration, transition, testing, training and handover into live service.

Looking to the future. Although it’s evident we are living and working in challenging times,  Les remains a strong and positive advocate for applying what we have learnt from the past to shaping how we approach the next big challenge. By working in partnership with industry, Les believes we can realise better outcomes through adapting and adopting what we do and the approach we take. Challenging times or not, we all need to think about what’s next!
